The trek to Ohio

I was a little nervous to fly to Ohio with a squirmy 2 year old, so I packed an entire arsenal of "distractions." I got Soph all kinds of art supplies, which she loved!

On our flight to Atlanta, we colored a ton!

I always get really uncomfortable on planes (who doesn't?) but oh my goodness, flying at 35 weeks pregnant was a whole new ballgame. One I hope to never repeat.

My belly hit the tray table!

Here is one of mine and Soph's masterpieces...

We also ate plenty of yummy snacks...

And watched Finding Nemo for the first time (now it's one of her favorites)

Our flight to Atlanta was a success, and Soph was great. Unfortunately our flight to Cleveland got delayed... then cancelled :( After standing in line for ages we were given food vouchers and a night at a hotel.

Here were are the next day, in the same clothes, ready to try again..

And here we are, an hour later, still on the ground.

Right before we were supposed to leave, the power went out at the airport and they couldn't pull the plane away from the jetway.

We weren't too excited about this...

In the time we spent waiting, Soph managed to lose her sock. And her pants.

But finally, they got us out and in the air!

Needless to say, we were very excited when we landed in Cleveland!

Goodbye, Logan...

Our last few months in Logan were kind of a blur! It went by so fast. Jonny had been applying to jobs and got a couple offers. We decided to go with Eaton, where Jonny would be an HR generalist in Ohio! We felt really good about this decision and still do :)

His job started in June, and we had a baby due in July, so we knew things would be a little hectic. We just tried to relax and soak up as much time with family as we could before we left.
It's hard to remember what happened, so I'll just go through the pictures...

Every time I paint my nails Sophie has me paint hers too. She loves it!

When Soph asked if she could paint her daddy's toenails he just couldn't say no :)

Soph loves the oven mitts. Haha... she wears them all the time!

She is also obsessed with stickers. She sticks them on anything and everything. Including herself.
Every time I do laundry, I have to peel off about 100 of them...

Haha.. what a weirdo :)

One day (in February, maybe?) I started having sharp pains on the right side of my abdomen. I put off going to the doctor, thinking it would go away. But oh boy, it sure didn't! Originally they thought it was appendicitis, but after an ultrasound and some tests, they said it was a kidney stone. That was a relief!

Sophie loves her baby doll, and snuggles with her all the time.

Apparently she also loves to paint her baby doll.

I finally went to my first Aggies basketball game. Sophie and Maren loved it, and were so cute!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Soph... Love that girl :)

We decided to get some Aggie gear before we left Logan. J and I were thinking more along the lines of a tee shirt or some basketball shorts. Soph had other ideas...

Our friends introduced us to the Jump Zone, which we loved!

Well, most of the time, anyways...

Soph had a weird episode one day where she couldn't stay awake. At first we thought it was cute cause she was so snuggly and sleeping in our arms. Then she wouldn't wake up! I finally got her awake enough to eat, but she fell asleep while eating some strawberries and started choking :(

Eventually, we got her to drink something, and the more she drank the more she perked up. The dr. said it could've been dehydration which was super weird cause she had plenty to drink the day before. Oh well, she got better, which is the important thing!

In addition to the snuggles, she also had a super awesome hairdo :)

One day at Costco I saw this giant dog, and knew I had to get it. It was so cute!

Soph fell in love with it and started calling it "big bear." We didn't have the heart to tell her it was a dog. So... "big bear" it is :)

We got to see the Wilsons one last time at a Bees game, and took a very cozy train ride :)

Sophie and I spent many hours outside playing...

Her favorite things are kicking around a ball, coloring with sidewalk chalk, and blowing bubbles.

One day we got caught in a rainstorm and Jonny took turns bringing us inside under a blanket. He sure takes good care of his girls!

One day, we went to the dollar store and I told Soph she could pick out a treat. She chose these crazy glasses, and still wears them all the time!

Oh my goodness, I love this picture. This is Sophie with our friends' baby, Joshua. We babysat him a few times, and Soph loved him. Can't you tell from this pic? :)

This girl is 2 going on 16. She loves being in the driver's seat and thinks she is so big!

I still remember going for walks in Provo with Jonny when we were newly married. We used to talk about the future and what was in store for us. It seemed like he would be in school for the rest of his life! Honestly though, it felt like the day would never come when he would finish.

Well, it did come and I couldn't be prouder! This smarty pants graduated with an MBA and MSHR! We were so blessed in the past 2 years, and we couldn't have accomplished this without the help of many family and friends. We found a great program, where Jonny was able to get 2 masters degrees in only 2 years and had a wonderful experience. So happy for him and SO glad to be done!

With our time in Utah coming to an end, we squeezed in as much family time as possible. We spent some time down in Ephraim, where Ash and Jordan live.

There was a restaurant in Logan called "Angie's" that we always wanted to try and we finally did! Naturally, when I asked Soph what she wanted to eat, she said "cheese." (Don't worry, she ate more than just cheese!)

And just like that, it was time to leave. Eaton covered all the moving expenses, which was nice. They shipped our car out and we flew. They also had a moving company come pack up our stuff and take it away. It was weird to move without packing a single box!

Here is Soph saying goodbye to her friend Colson (who also happens to be her first kiss! haha). She still asks about him, which kind of breaks my heart :(

Side story: Sophie really struggled in nursery for a while. Every time we dropped her off she would have a meltdown and have to be held by a leader the whole time. Our nursery was awesome because it had a window where we could see in, but the kids couldn't see out. This way we could go check on her without her seeing us and getting upset. Well, one day I peeked in to check on her and she and Colson were sitting together, holding hands. She had red, puffy eyes so I knew she had been crying. But sweet little Colson had come over and sat next to her and held her hand to make her feel better.
So so cute.

All of our stuff...

And that was that! Everything was hauled away and we left.

I remember my first time in Logan, when we drove up to look at apartments. We saw a sign that said "bull semen for sale" and I was a little worried :) But we really fell in love with that little town in those 2 years, and were sad to leave!
