Holy cow.
The past few days have been crazy, and the next week will only get crazier.
It's been a while since I've updated, but here's a quick look at what we are in the middle of right now. Jonny got an internship with TIC this summer (this was back in December, I think). Unfortunately, because of the nature of the company, we wouldn't find out where we would be until the last minute. They told us it would most likely be Phoenix, so that's what we planned on.
Our first choice was Denver, which is their HQ, but they said that was full. So this whole time I've been dreading moving to Arizona, not sure what I was going to do with Sophie all summer if it's too hot to go outside (I hate the heat. A lot.)
A few days ago we got a call saying we could start the internship on May 8th, which gives us an extra 2 weeks of work, so we were excited about that. They also said that would be temporarily placed in DENVER, then possibly reassigned. This was awesome news! What was even more awesome was that 2 days later we got a call saying we would be in Denver all summer long! We would love to end up in CO one day, so we are so excited.
Then reality sunk in. We have a week to pack up all of our stuff, move out of our apartment, and we need to find a place to live in Denver! We spent all day yesterday looking and calling places. We couldn't decide between an extended-stay hotel and an apartment. The hotels are more expensive and there's no bedroom, which means Sophie would have to sleep in the bathroom (ha!). But getting an apartment would mean that we would have to move some furniture, and deal with a lease. Yikes.
We ended up finding an apartment for pretty cheap, and it looks like that's what we'll do! It only has a 3 month lease, then day-by-day after that. We're getting a storage unit to store most of our stuff, and we still have to figure out how to move the rest of it to Denver. I'm kinda nervous about the whole thing. I don't know what the apartment looks like, or what kind of area it's in, so it will be a surprise! And it's 11 miles from the office, so Jonny will take public transportation to get to work so I can have the car (apparently traffic is terrible there, so dropping him off isn't an option).
Needless to say, the last few days have been super hectic, trying to figure everything out. On top of all that, I got the flu :( All day Wednesday and Thursday I was pretty much useless, but I started to feel a tad better yesterday. Today is the first day I can actually be somewhat productive though, so I finally started packing. Jonny is in the middle of finals and doesn't have much time to help, so wish me luck!
Well, I took a break to blog, but those darn boxes are calling my name....

Congrats!
Hi Alli,
I realize you may not remember me, but your dad and my husband are cousins and we visited you about 11 years ago in Vermont. Anyway, we live in Aurora and would be glad to help you out in any way. If you need a temporary place to stay during your move you are welcome to come and stay with us, or if you need me to watch Sophie while you move in, (she is such a cutie!) or I have a strong 18 year old who could come and help you move or whatever you need... Please don't hesitate to let us know how we can help you. My email address is: julialords@yahoo.com and then I can give the rest of my info. Your parents helped us out so much when we first moved here. I would like the chance to somehow pay them back through you. Good luck with everything. :) Julia Lords
