I'm behind on blogging. Again. I just don't have the motivation for it, but I want to keep going because I like keeping a record of things.
So, here goes another catch-up post.
Sophie is now 8 months old, but I'll just cover months 6-7 here.

Can you tell I'm losing motivation for these pictures too? I didn't even wait to get a smile!

She babbles all the time now. She even says her first word, but I'll save that for the 8 month post :)
When she gets a hold of a new object, she goes through the same routine to make sure it's acceptable. First she will hold it and stare at it. Then she'll rotate it in her hands repeatedly, flipping it over and over. Next, she brings it to her lips, then back to look at it, then back to the lips, then back to look at it... (this step usually takes the longest). Then she brings it into her mouth, licks it, then brings it back to look at it, and repeats that a few times. Once she has deemed it safe, she chews and sucks on it until it is sufficiently covered in drool. What a weirdo :)
She learned how to sit up all by herself! She went from not being able to hold herself up at all, to propping herself up on her hands (see below), to fully sitting up all in about a day. Babies are such quick learners!
She is learning how to crawl. She learned how to scooch herself forward on her belly when she was 7 months old, but in the past week or so she can get into crawling position (she just doesn't know how to move forward yet!) The cutest part is that whenever she "crawls" she giggles the entire time, like she's having a blast!
She loves my hair. A lot. We're hoping she'll get her own one day, but for now she's still a baldy!
Back in August (at age 6 months) she cut her first tooth! She was fussy for about an hour and that was it. Then about 2 days later she cut another, with no fussing at all. I tried to get a picture of her tiny little teeth, but it was harder said than done...
I'll have to try again now that they've grown in a lot more.
I decided to finally take a picture of what she looks like when she cries. She doesn't full-on cry a ton, but when she does her whole face and eyes get red and splotchy. Is that normal?!
She's grown so much lately! I think the thing I've noticed the most is her level of comprehension. She just seems to be much more aware and she understands so much more around her. It's so neat to watch her stare at something and try to make sense of it. I love it!
